Race Day Information

The Owl Creek Chase is a 21K freestyle cross-country ski race from the Snowmass XC Center to Aspen Nordic Center. The challenging course from Snowmass Village to Aspen presents the very best that Colorado skiing has to offer: tough climbs, scenic views, thrilling descents and excellent snow conditions! Participants can choose between the 9am Classic race or 9:30am Skate race.

*COVID makes event planning complicated. If the current Pitkin County Public Health orders change, this event could be cancelled. Thank you for your understanding

Bib Pickup Begins at 8:00 am at the start line.

9 am 21K Classic Race Start 9:00 Elite/Collegiate Men
9:05 Elite/Collegiate Women
9:10 Citizens 

9:30 am 21K Skate Race Start

10:00 am 15K Tour Start (Two Creeks Ski Area)

Prize Money for top 3 overall Men and top 3 Overall Women in the classic race only $300, $200, $100

Entry Fee:  $45 online registration until January 21 $55 until 1/28 the $60 until 1/29 at noon.

Waivers – Make your check-in faster by downloading and filling out your RACE DAY WAIVERS. These must be completed before you race! Bring with you to check-in.

Tour Start, 10AM:
Please arrive at Two Creeks 15 minutes prior to tour start to check-in. Look for Aspen Parks & Recreation Start Flag (from the Shuttle drop-off walk across the courtyard and go towards the Two Creeks Chair lift. If it is snowing/raining check-in will be in the Two Creeks Cafe.) You will receive a bib to participate.
For our Tour participants we are suggesting a donation of $25 dollars to the Aspen Snowmass Nordic Council. Waivers – Make your check-in faster by downloading and filling out the waiver (see above).

Parking:

Participants are asked to park at the finish line at the Aspen Middle School lot  and take a shuttle to the start.

Shuttles: We Cannot provide race dedicated shuttles at this time. Participants are required to get themselves to and from the Race start and Finish. Each location is located on the free bus line and information can be found online at WWW.RFTA.COM

Roaring Fork Valley Bus service is provided by RFTA. Please visit www.rfta.com for times. All buses between Rubey Park and Snowmass are free.

Gear Drop: There will be a white van for gear drop off in front of the Snowmass Cross Country Center, please leave gear prior to going to the start line.
