A Weekend Uphill Experience at Buttermilk Ski Area.
For the first time in Aspen, the Aspen Skiing Company in partnership with the City of Aspen, is opening up Buttermilk Ski Area after the lifts are closed for the season to uphill travelers only — — AT skiers, trail runners, snowshoers, split boarders, hikers and all non-mechanized uphillers are welcome.
The ski area will offer groomed runs, on-duty patrollers, and food services to those who want to ascend Buttermilk, Tiehack and West Buttermilk. 70% of the terrain will be groomed.
Don’t have the gear? No problem. Four Mountain Sports will be open for the weekend with gear rentals and other end of season specials.
There will be a festival village set up at the base of Buttermilk offering demo gear, merchandise, guides, clinics and food. And maybe a local’s gear swap.
Panda Peak will be the staging area for the demo gear and instruction by local guides.
Try a guided ascent to the top of Buttermilk Saturday, 4/8 11am & 1pm and Sunday, 4/9 11am.
To sign up as a vendor contact SCROSS@aspensnowmass.com, it is free to participate.
The Cliffhouse will have complimentary hot cocoa or lemonade and a limited selection of food for sale.
The event is free and open to the public (all skill levels!). There will be no lift service available.
Sorry, No Dogs or Bikes Allowed.
